Biography:
Ernest Martin received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1986 from Doane College which is located in Crete Nebraska. He earned his Juris Doctorate at the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1989.
Ernest began his legal career in 1989 working at such places as Allied Group Insurance, American International Group, Gulf Group Insurance, Meadowbrook Insurance Group and Wolfe Anderson Law Firm. He developed a great deal of varying experience working in the insurance industry for over 10 years as an insurance claims attorney and insurance contract specialist.
He entered private practice with the formation of Currier & Martin in 1996 and has focused on family law issues such as divorce, custody, paternity, child support, motion practice and adoption. Although he deals to a large extent in family law, he continues to successfully handle contract cases, real estate matters, collections, creditor rights, and personal injury.
Ernest feels that he brings a unique approach to his legal representation.
"I thoroughly interview my client’s cases in an effort to identify all issues that may exist, even those which my clients may not be aware. I then explain the applicable laws to my clients that both positively and adversely affect their case."
"I feel that if my clients understand the law and court procedures, they're in a much better position to make sensible decisions regarding their legal options. I always encourage my clients to consider agreements and pre-litigation settlements so as to avoid legal expenses and the uncertainty of trials and hearings."
"I certainly make less money when cases settle quickly than I would if I encouraged continued disputes, but I've found my methods to be in my clients' best interests as they achieve their goals, resolve their disputes and save a significant amount of money. However, when cases cannot be resolved amicably, then I encourage my clients to take the matter to court."
